Facts About ADHD

No more tears, dad and child completing homework with ease.
  • Facts About ADHD in Children

  • ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood, affecting about 9.8% of children in the United States.

  • Symptoms typically appear by age 12, but can be noticeable as early as preschool years.

  • Children with ADHD may show patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, or a combination of these behaviors.

  • Boys are more likely to be diagnosed than girls, although girls are often underdiagnosed because they tend to exhibit less disruptive symptoms.

  • Without proper support, children with ADHD are at higher risk for academic difficulties, social challenges, and low self-esteem.

  • Early intervention, including behavioral therapies, academic supports, parent training, and medication when appropriate, can significantly improve outcomes.

  • Children with ADHD often possess incredible creativity, energy, and problem-solving skills when supported in the right environment.

Who We Are

Since 2008, Renewed Journey Counseling Services has proudly served the Metro Atlanta community, offering expert psychiatric care and mental health counseling to individuals and families. As the demand for high-quality ADHD care grew and as quick-turnaround, dot-com clinics began to close, we experienced a wave of patients seeking something more meaningful, more personalized, and more clinically grounded. We listened. And we responded with purpose.

At Renewed Journey, we believe ADHD is not a flaw but rather a unique brilliance that simply needs the right environment to thrive. Our mission was clear: to create a space where individuals with ADHD feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered.

We built an ADHD-focused clinic that offers more than just a diagnosis. Here, patients receive:

  • FDA-approved ADHD testing

  • Comprehensive evaluations

  • Thoughtful, personalized medication management

  • Executive function and skill-building coaching

  • A supportive community that truly understands

We don’t just manage symptoms, we help our patients tap into their strengths, build confidence, and gain lifelong tools to succeed at home, in school, at work, and beyond.

Every person’s journey with ADHD is different. Every challenge has the potential to lead to growth. And every breakthrough, no matter how small, matters.

At Renewed Journey, we are honored to walk alongside you as you turn insight into action and unlock your superpowers.
